Google Maps Street View Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can Google Maps Street Views help my business?
When potential customers search for your business by name on Google, they will see the images displayed directly on the results page as "See Inside". These panoramic images will also be published on Google+ Local pages, Google Maps and other Google products to give customers a better sense of the layout, decor and beauty of your business interior. Using easy-to-use html snippets or Maps APIs, you can also link to these images from your on-line business presence, attracting potential customers who visit your website too.
  • What is the relationship between a Street View Trusted Photographer and Google?
Street View Trusted Photographers are freelance photographers / independent contractors that are neither employed by Google nor agents of Google. Google has trained and certified them to meet Google’s standards of quality for taking the feature pictures and panoramic pictures, uploading them, moderating them and eventually publishing them on Google's platform.
  • How long does it take to appear on Google search results?
It takes about 2-3 weeks for the panoramic walkthroughs to show in Google search results, Google+ and Google Maps.
  • How do I prepare for a scheduled photo shoot of my business?
Keep in mind that Google Maps Street View “See Inside” imagery is completely 360 and the camera see's everything within eyesight. You can be prepared by generally cleaning up, wiping off dirt from reflective windows, mirrors and glassware, removing clutter, vacuuming floors and keeping things tidy prior to the photography session.

Make sure all light switches and fixtures are operational; go ahead and turn on all lights that may have a hidden or hard-to-find switch. All lamps and lights will be turned on during the shoot including lamps and even the hood over the stove top in order to enhance the flash lighting provided by the photographer, making each scene potentially more pleasing.

For privacy reasons, Google prefers to have little or no people in the shot, so please section off areas to be photographed. Any persons that are present at the time of the shoot will have their faces blurred for anonymity including business owners, workers, customers and patrons.

Pano.LA has allocated a specific time for each location that we shoot and we have several booked in a single day. Therefore it is important that the business be in the condition you want it photographed in when we arrive as follow up visits do involve additional fees.
